What is the Weston/Westport Hebrew School of the Arts?
Our after-school Jewish enrichment program in Weston, CT offers creative, hands-on lessons in Hebrew reading & writing,  Jewish history, heroes, holidays and traditions,  Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation,  and Israel,  for children in grades K–7. Our energetic and experienced staff leverage STEM, visual arts, and unique experiences to engage students and bring Judaism to life in a positive atmosphere. ​​
where and when is the program held?
Classes meet Tuesdays from 4:00–5:30 PM during the school year at the Weston Senior Center, 9 School Road, Weston, CT.
Do you offer bar and bat mitzvah preparation?
Yes. Our   Bar Mitzvah Club for boys and Bat Mitzvah Club for girls in grades 5–7, focuses on preparation for the ceremony and celebration. We also offer personalized classes. Our innovative curriculum engages students with imaginative and memorable experiences across Jewish holidays, history, heritage, values, culture, torah study, Hebrew language, and Israel. will my child learn to read and write hebrew?
Yes. We utilize the Aleph Champ Hebrew reading program to ensure students read and write Hebrew fluently by the end of their Hebrew School of the Arts experience. The syllabus guides students with realistic goals and progressive levels that mirror the levels of Karate and are self-motivating. Visit our Curriculum page to learn more.
Do families need to be members of a synagogue To join the program?
No membership is required. Our program is open to all Jewish children in the Weston/Westport area regardless of their background or affiliation.
